Anyone who has lost something they thought was theirs forever finally comes to realize that nothing really belongs to them.
Some people never learn. We need God every moment of every day, but it’s not always obvious. If we are healthy and have a stable job, it’s easy to also believe we don’t really need God. Let us get into trouble, however and we quickly cry out. Marcel Proust said “When we see ourselves on the edge of an abyss and it seems that God has abandoned us, we no longer hesitate to expect a miracle.” These can be times of growth when we realize with clarity our helplessness without God and we understand how much we need Him. The trick is – you have to actually want to be found.
If you are not teachable you are not reachable.
