Lost

coelhoAnyone who has lost something they thought was theirs forever finally comes to realize that nothing really belongs to them.

~Paulo Coelho

Some people never learn.  We need God every moment of every day, but it’s not always obvious. If we are healthy and have a stable job, it’s easy to also believe we don’t really need God. Let us get into trouble, however and we quickly cry out. Marcel Proust said “When we see ourselves on the edge of an abyss and it seems that God has abandoned us, we no longer hesitate to expect a miracle.” These can be times of growth when we realize with clarity our helplessness without God and we understand how much we need Him. The trick is – you have to actually want to be found.

If you are not teachable you are not reachable.

Genesis 3:7-9

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”
