Why I Read: The Serious Pleasure of Books by Wendy Lesser

41ro7IqcLRL__SY344_BO1,204,203,200_I was thrilled to find this book because readers love to compare notes with readers, and Wendy Lesser promised a rich conversation at the beginning. The problem is, she is in love with the sound of her own voice and I never got a word in edgewise.

What I mean is, she knows a lot and seems hell bent to wedge it all into every run-on paragraph. The points she makes are terrific and would have benefitted from a better editor.

I got through the book but it was exhausting.
